This week so far

Wow! Canada is now 141 years old and we have had the opportunity to spend some time together as a family. We had a GREAT day!

Tuesday dawned bearing a beautiful, blue, sunlit sky. Wisps of clouds graced the blue from time to time through the day and a breeze kept temperatures from becoming unbearable. It was, all in all, a perfect day!!

We slept in, hung out and feasted on great food, and that was just the morning. I made a big pancake breakfast before we gathered a multitude of our favourite outside toys and spent the afternoon playing bedminton, bocce, lawn darts, and catch. It was amazing. Doug and I were totally blissed out with our amazing family time. So often, when one of us has some time to hang out with our children, the other parent is busy with work and is unable to participate.

We were invited to dine with Karen, Larry, their children and our other friends, Janice and Dave that evening. The boys had a great time swimming before dinner and sitting on the roof of the house watching fireworks afterwards.

Yesterday was our 14th wedding anniversary. Doug worked all day and so we weren't together for the day but we had a great evening. A friend of ours, Adam Growe, had his opening night for the Toronto Fringe Festival and was staging his one-man show: Adam Growe's The Mom and Pop Shop!

If you live within driving distance of Toronto and have a hole in your schedule over the next several days (he has 5 shows left) you really should go and see it. It is playing at the Theatre Passe Muraille and is in the main space of the theatre.

What a GREAT week so far.

Next week the boys and I are off, with friend Teresa Pitman, to see some friends in New Jersey. Stephanie and children won't be able to be there and that was a disappointment. We will have fun though and will hang out, doing nothing for a few days.

Sounds like great fun. Be careful on your trip.
