The second part is about my sister and I and there aren't any pictures to show you. She and I took part, with my friends Janice and Karen, in the CIBC Run For the Cure where 170, 000 participants across Canada raised $26.5 million for Breast Cancer Research.
This event was a 5km run/walk, of which we did both. We participated in Guelph, Ontario as it is close to where I live and was not as likely to be a HUGE throng of people. We wanted it to be a smaller, more intimate venue.
The pre-run announcements were inspiring and uplifting, if not somewhat scary. It was hard to hold it together when listening to some of these people speak. To see them standing strong and proud made it easier though.
The four of us went out for brunch at a lovely little vegetarian restaurant afterwards and just enjoyed one another's company. It was a lovely day for a worthwhile yet devastating cause.
I am grateful that my sister is willing to take part in things like this with me. She and I often seem to hold similar causes close to our hearts though so I guess that makes it easier to support one another.
