A brief word

Not a lot of news to share from here these days. I am working lots and that's okay because I love the work that I am blessed to be able to do. In the last month 4 clients have had babies (2 boys and 2 girls) and all were lucky enough to have unmedicated and fairly brief labours. It was PERFECT!!

One more due before we go on our family vacation. Can't wait. The boys still don't know what our plans are so we are keeping things fairly quiet. To say that Fergus is an excellent "guesser" is an understatement. I don't want to give him any clues because I have already had to try to divert his focus a few times. It gets harder and harder as more "clues" creep out.

My business partner was one of the people who delivered recently. Her son is now two weeks old. He is so sweet. And I had a client deliver on my birthday. It was kind of funny. I expected perhaps Kristin would call but it wasn't her that gave me a labour update as we left for Trick or Treating. My friends had a birthday party for me, without me. And then this past weekend I had a client almost deliver in her van. Nice driving on dad's part as mom and I rode out the contractions in the back of their Honda Odyssey. Dad was delighted to learn that, in the case of an emergency, he could stop for a red light and then proceed with caution if he needed to. We needed him to. Mom arrived at the hospital fully dilated and needing to push. YIKES! (My job is NEVER dull that's for sure)

Speaking of Honda, Doug, the boys and I were part of a photo shoot for Honda last week. In the end they will only use two of the shots we did (one of me on a motorcycle and one of our family sitting in the lounge in the dealership). It was fun though. The boys were trying on Honda helmets and other riding gear after having taken turns sitting on bikes. It was a dull and rainy day. Gave us something new and fun to do on a crappy day.

We had the first snowfall of the season two days ago. I was out at work and the boys met Doug outside when he got home. They had been out playing for a long time. ECSTATIC that there was finally snow on the ground. I love that they love it so much and that they seem to have completely forgotten that by last April they were part of Ontario's universal groaning every time a new wave of flurries worked their way through town.

The boys will be up to their ears in birthday parties this weekend. Tomorrow is Cole's 10th birthday and Sunday they will celebrate Liam's 6th. You will have seen pictures of these children here on my blog before. Cole comes to our homeschool skate on Mondays and is doing amazingly well considering this is really his first season on skates. Liam is the firey red-head that Quinn has been BFF with since Liam was still in utero.

Best get the boys ready and off out to buy birthday gifts. I suspect there will be a few "Nerf" guns being purchased this afternoon. Oh well. At least their friends will be more evenly armed.

Have a glorious day and enjoy the sunshine!
