The boys are bouncing off the wall. Three hours to go until we leave for our annual New Year's Eve party and their best friends will be there too! This annual event started as 1999 became 2000 and several of us wanted to be able to celebrate with our friends AND with our children. This went so well that the same group (for the most part) has continued every year since.
There is a theme every year. We have dressed in 70's garb and eaten 70's grub. We have relived the 80's. We have dressed in our best clothes and in our best costumes (as our favourite TV personalities -- that was the year we dressed baby Quinn as Baby New Year from the old stop-animation show with Rudolph etc.) This year we are to come bearing food and beverage from our favourite places in the world. Doug will don his kilt and take some Scottish beer to enjoy with his fried snacks. I will wear normal clothes (as I did when I was in Belgium) but take two consumable items for which Belgium is known: chocolate and beer!
It is my turn to drive so I will mostly drink the Gini Grenadine as I did when I was there almost 20 years ago. Doug will enjoy my Belgian beverages.
Tomorrow we will spend time with friends from Kitchener that we just don't see often enough, no matter how hard we try to make it work.
We hope you and yours are well and that you have a fantastic party tonight and phenomenal 2007!!
